Top Boudoir Session FAQ's

So you've decided that you're going to schedule a boudoir session, congrats on that first step!! You'll certainly have some questions before you officially book, each does. What to wear, posing, hair, and makeup...there's a lot to consider! That's why we decided to organize the most frequently asked questions I receive from clients.

Here are my top boudoir session FAQ's:

I’m not a professional model so I don’t know how to pose! Can you help me with that?

Yes, absolutely! We get as involved as we need to. If you’re a client who needs a lot of direction with posing, we will help and guide you every step of the way. If you’re a natural and feel comfortable in front of the camera, we’ll give you basic direction, stay out of your way and document!

Some basic poses are simple and easy to do and practice in the mirror a little before your boudoir photo shoot!

How should I approach my hair and makeup?

Professional hair and makeup are provided on-site and are included in all Boudoir Collections. During our pre-session consult, we will discuss the look you want, and the stylists will use that information before your boudoir shoot.

Will you post my images on your website or social media?

My client's privacy is incredibly important; no images will ever be shared without your consent.

What kind of outfits should I wear? How many should I bring?

After we receive your pre-shoot questionnaire, we will schedule your pre-shoot consult. We’ll discuss wardrobe ideas, including lingerie. Nothing screams sexy like lace, silk, and sheer outfits.

Bodysuits and robes are amazing choices as well. I also encourage my clients to make it their own by bringing anything they feel comfortable in, maybe an oversized sweatshirt or your significant other's button-up shirt. The options are endless.

I also have some people bring in dresses, jean jackets, and faux fur. It’s all up to you and the vibe you want to create at your boudoir session!

As for accessories, the more the better! Anything from earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, body chains, & fishnets. High heels are a MUST!

Where will my session take place?

I mostly secure beautiful apartments through Airbnb in Philadelphia or the surrounding area. I also occasionally book a hotel suite in the Philadelphia area as well.

There are parts of my body that I’m self-conscious of. Can you Photoshop that for me?

One of my top boudoir session FAQs is right here! This is where my knowledge of posing comes in. Posing will almost always cure any areas of your body that you may be self-conscious of. We will discuss those areas (if any) during our pre-shoot consult. While I will use Photoshop to remove blemishes, fly-aways, and other minor imperfections, I will not use it for altering your body. You’re beautiful exactly the way you are!

What products do you offer?

We offer albums handmade in Italy and beautiful canvas and metal wall art.

I’d like to surprise my fiancé on our wedding day with a book of images from my session. When is the best time to schedule my session so I have the book in time?

I suggest scheduling your boudoir session at least four months before your wedding day to avoid late delivery of your products.

Boudoir Session FAQ's

How long does it take to see my photos?

Should I get a spray tan before my session?

From my perspective, I'd say to not get a spray tan. Your natural skin is your best asset and nothing photographs better than your natural skin.

If a spray tan is going to make you feel more comfortable and confident, then definitely do it! Spray tans before your session can work well IF it’s done right. Book your spray tan with an experienced professional and make sure your spray tan artist knows what you're getting your spray tan for!

You want your spray tan to be light and natural since we are going for a natural look. Book your tan 2-3 days before your session.

I’m a plus-sized woman and I don’t think I have the body for boudoir.

One of my other top boudoir session FAQ's!!

Boudoir photography is for EVERYONE and if you have curves let’s celebrate them! And no you don’t need to lose 10lbs first - there’s magic with angles, posing and outfit choices. Come as you are and let’s love and celebrate YOU!
