The way celebs lie about plastic surgery, expensive skincare, hair extensions etc made me feel super self conscious of myself growing up. Now with social media it actually helps with the accounts who show edited vs unedited photos. Or posing vs natural. Getting into therapy and learning to love myself has helped. Also seeing the way I look advertised and in movies and stuff helped too. When only one kind of beauty was the norm it was hard for niche girls like me to feel wanted or good enough, but representation is good!"

Growing up and being a teenager in the time of low rise jeans and tiny models, my naturally curvy body just did not fit in literally. I could never wear the fashions that were in style in high school and I wore baggy sweatpants to hide my body a great deal. If you were to see pictures of me then, I would appear unrecognizable. Often in even boys' jeans to hide my butt and thighs and appear less curvy. Until finally I was brave enough and decided to do it. I was lucky enough to find an amazing photographer who made me feel very comfortable to the point that I was just having fun with it. And I think that’s the most important thing! Doing this boudoir session was such a great self-esteem booster for me because I never saw myself in a set up like that and I was quite impressed with the way I looked in the pictures. I felt gorgeous, sexy, strong and it made me have even more appreciation for my body the way it is. "I would say the media, social pressure and just having an overall image in my head of what my body is “supposed to look like” has had a negative impact on my body image since I was a young girl. I always felt like I had to be skinnier, more fit or be the skinniest I could be. Which isn’t true. I believe you should strive to be the healthiest you can be. Having support through family, friends and a loving husband who has always loved me as I am has helped change my negative view of myself. On one hand, if you love your cleavage, wear something low cut. On the other hand, if you love your butt, wear revealing panties. If you love your long legs, go with something very short and high heels. If you love your entire body, wear something skin tight. This is about you, and if you feel good about any of yourself, it should be on display.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀- If you have any insecurities about your body, a corset can give you an amazing silhouette while also providing an illicit image. Tip Tuesday!!💋What's the difference between a Boudoir Session and a Beauty/Glamour Session?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀To me, Boudoir is similar to Glamour but is often about showcasing fantasy that is often steeped very much in reality as these images are often gifts for significant others. For a brief moment in time, a boudoir client is a glamour model, in front of the camera, creating fantasy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Beauty/Glamour shares many of the same characteristics of Boudoir photography. The main difference is you can shoot Beauty/Glamour without using a lingerie wardrobe. Beauty/Glamour clothing covers the gamut from clothed to lingerie and almost always takes place outside of a bedroom.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Boudoir also celebrates beauty, but in a more obvious sensual way. Boudoir photography subjects are usually wearing lingerie in some of their images. And, as the name suggests, it takes place in a bedroom or other private location. So, along with boudoir being about a woman getting sexy and alluring photos taken of herself, the other important aspect of that is it’s also a way for a woman to celebrate, acknowledge, and express her sexuality and her body.
