Having a bridal boudoir photoshoot has become more and more popular over the last few years. The opportunity to step out of the wedding planning stress and embrace your inner supermodel while taking some sexy pictures for your fiancé is a fun addition to the pre-wedding prep.

Many women are still hesitant about this style of photography though. They feel like they aren't in good enough shape, they don't look good enough, something isn't perfect.

You already know your fiancé loves you for everything you are. Therefore, take the cue from them, and embrace yourself as you are right now. Body and self-love aside, there are a few tips that can make your boudoir session feel more comfortable and flow more easily.

Pick a Photographer You are Comfortable With

This is a must. The intimate nature of these photos makes it necessary to work with a photographer you trust and feel comfortable with. Do your research. Take the time to look through photographers portfolios and social media accounts to find someone who creates the kind of images you want and portrays the attitude and professionalism you want.

When you have a couple of boudoir photographers in mind, take the time to consult with each of them face to face to get a feel for how they interact in person. The last thing you want is to be posing in your underwear in front of someone you are not comfortable with.

Bring in Elements of the Wedding

Whether it's your shoes, your veil, or your wedding night lingerie, bringing in something related to the wedding helps remind you of the special time you are experiencing. The textures and quality of the items used in weddings are also usually more luxurious so it brings a special element to the photos.

Pamper Yourself

Make this photo shoot a one of a kind experience for yourself. Take the time to pick out some special outfits for your bridal boudoir session. Spend some time the day of and the day before getting your nails done, getting your hair done, or getting your makeup done professionally. Do things that will help you relax but also things that will make you feel the most beautiful. The more confident you feel about yourself, the more relaxed you will be during your bridal boudoir shoot.

Do What Makes You Comfortable

Above all, do what makes you comfortable. Don't pick outfits because someone else suggests they are sexy or because you think it's what your spouse will like best. Choose outfits that you are comfortable in your bridal boudoir session, because that will help your personal beauty and confidence shine through.

Whether it's a button-down work shirt or jersey from your spouse's favorite sports team, a lacy nightie, or a black negligee, whatever makes you feel beautiful and sexy is what works best for these kinds of photos. Do you!
