5 Excuses and Reasons For Not Doing a Boudoir Session This 2023

I'm constantly surprised when I speak to the women who come to boudoir sessions about how long it took them to finally book their appointment. So often they tell me that they spent months working up the courage to book their appointment, or talking themselves out of it. I hear the same reasons each time and they boil down to these five things:

I'm Not Sexy Enough for This

Now, this stems from a million variations of this sentiment. Everything from "I'm too old for these types of photos" to "I need to lose weight first" bubbles to the surface when women start to think about boudoir.

Ladies, the truth of the matter is: you don't need to change a thing to be ready for your boudoir session. Boudoir is about celebrating the beauty of your body, its power, its strength, its resiliency. Your body is the perfect shape and size for a boudoir right now.

I Have No One to Give These Photos To

I'm sure that giving the gift of boudoir to a special someone is a great present. But, what about giving the gift of boudoir to yourself? A boudoir experience is designed to make you feel beautiful, confident, pampered, and fabulous. Can you think of a better gift to give yourself than that? At the end of your session you will leave feeling beautiful, inspired, and impressed with your own body.

I'm Too Nervous

It's true with any photoshoot, being in front of the camera can be a little nerve-wracking. This can be even truer when you're about to stand in front of the camera in your underwear! However, you can rest assured that I'll do everything in my power to make you feel at ease. If you like, consider bringing a friend along with you to your shoot. Laughter and friendship is often the best cure for a case of the nerves.

It is Too Expensive

Way too often women tell me they feel selfish spending this kind of money on themselves. The bottom line is: you deserve to be pampered. When was the last time you spent time and money on yourself? An amazing boudoir session will leave you feeling sexy and confident. You're worth it.

I Have Nothing to Wear

Part of feeling beautiful is also feeling comfortable in your outfit and in your skin. If lingerie isn't your thing, let's brainstorm to think outside the box. Lace and garter belts aren't the only way to dress for a boudoir shoot. Your favorite denim jacket with a peek-a-boo bra might be just the thing to make you feel like a star in front of the camera.

Whatever feels sexy to you is probably a better apparel choice anyway. Think about what you feel beautiful wearing. Maybe it's your most-loved pair of jeans, a men's button-down shirt, or even nothing at all.

A boudoir shoot is not about buying all new clothes or dressing for a part, it is about feeling beautiful just as you are.
